Photo Glass Coasters - As low as $1.24 per set of 2

If you have a small budget for your wedding or bridal shower, finding affordable favors can be a real problem. However, you’ll be amazed to know that many great, yet inexpensive wedding favors can be bought for less than $2. Here are our top ideas for cheap wedding favors that won’t cost you an arm and a leg and look anything but cheap.

  • Bookmarks: These make for inexpensive, but very thoughtful wedding favors. You can go in for a classic bookmark with the bride’s and groom’s name and a little poem written on it, or opt for designs such as butterfly bookmark favors, heart bookmarks etc. Most bookmark favors are available for about $2 but if you can make them yourself you can save a whole lot more!  If you’re going to make them yourself take them to your local copier and have them laminated so that they’re sure to last.
  • Coasters: In addition to being a cheap wedding favor, coasters are practical gifts too. A set of coasters can easily be yours for under $2. Add a photo of the bride and groom or personalize the coasters with your names and wedding date to make your wedding favors even more unique.
  • Plant seeds:Gifting plant seeds is increasingly becoming a very popular and inexpensive idea for wedding favors. Your guests can plant the seeds in their gardens and think of you every time they look at the flowers in full bloom. This is one wedding favor that can definitely be enjoyed for years on end plus their considered to be eco-friendly favors!
  • Scented soaps: Although it is quite cheap to put together a box of small scented soaps in various designs and colors, this wedding favor will definitely not look cheap. And if you can learn how to make soap and actually make them on your own, you’ll be surprised at how little they really cost.  If you’re not the do-it-yourself type they are plenty of soap favors available for purchase that come already packaged.

The selection of the  location of your wedding ceremony is almost important for you as sticking to your budget. Wedding locations can vary so keep the following mind when selecting your location:

  • Location…Location…Location.  Just like a buying real estate is popular by location so are wedding locations.  Many locations book a year to two in advance so make sure you book early so you’ll have time to find an alternate location if the location of your choice is not available.
  • Your church or other religious place of worship is an obvious choice for your ceremony location so if you decide to proceed with this option be sure to budget for a donation for the officiant’s fee.
  • This may seem obvious but make sure that your preferred location can seat all of your guests.
  • The basic necessities are important…rest rooms, parking, handicap access.  If you’re getting married in a warm climate, does the facility have air conditioning?
  • Are you the only wedding or event they are hosting that day?  You don’t want to be rushed out the door or not be able to get in because the previous event has not concluded.
  • Is a deposit required?  If so, is it refundable is your plans change?
  • Are photographer and/or videographers allowed?  Are their restrictions?
  • Is there a secluded room for the bride and her bridesmaid to get dressed in before the ceremony?
  • Are their any rules about music?  You don’t want to hire musicians and find out the day of the ceremony that they are not allowed to perform in your selected location.
  • If you have additional ideas that you’d like to share with other brides be sure to leaves your suggestions in the comments box below

When brides call to discuss their wedding invitations they typically ask about Wedding Programs.  It’s obviously an additional expense so many want to know if a wedding program is necessary and if so what information should it contain.

First of all they are not mandatory but make a great keepsake for your guests and are an easy to way to communicate and share the the following to your guests…

    •  Names of the wedding party and their relation to you and your future spouse.
    • Religious or ethnic customs that may be part of your ceremony that they are not familiar with.
    • Music and/or religious readings that may be performed.
    • Tell the story of your relationship – How did you meet?
    • Honor deceased family members.

    Wedding Program Kit

Your program can be as simple as a single sheet of paper that you print on your own computer that is folded or even flat.  And if you’re going to create a more complex program with multiple pages you may want to consider having it bound into a booklet at your local printer or tying it together with ribbon.

If you’re looking for something a little more decorative check with your retailer to see if your wedding invitations are available with a coordinating wedding program.  Even many of the “do it yourself” wedding invitations kits on the market today offer the coordinating Wedding  Program Kits.

What you decide just have fun with this project, don’t wait until and last minute to complete it and lastly…don’t forget to use “spell check”
