Sunny Summer Wedding Decorating Ideas

Are you considering having a beach or summer theme for your wedding and want to leave your guests awe-struck while keeping decorating expenses to a minimum. If you tie your theme together, it will be easier to decorate. Try one of the following ideas to decorate for your summer wedding.

Sunny Summer Wedding

Are you getting married outdoors during the “sunny summer” season with nature as the background?

Lemonade and Beverage Bar

If you’re getting married outside set up a beverage station with pitchers of ice water with lemons, lemonade and ice tea for your guest to sip on and keep cool before the wedding ceremony begins. Don’t forget about the kids too. If you’re having children at your wedding be sure to have a “kid friendly” beverage too.

Yellow and Orange Candy Bar

Candy Buffets continue to be a popular trend with today’s bride. A candy bar or buffet at the reception that can serve as favors and as well as decorations. Fill large clear containers with bright colored candy in yellow, orange, and white candy to coordinate with the warm colors of the season.

Bright Summer Wedding Flowers

Decorate the reception table with the bright color flowers of the season. Instead of using fresh cut flowers which can be so expensive consult with your local nursery or garden center for tips on potted flowering plants that will be in season for your wedding.

Fan Favors

Fan Favors not only make great favors for your guests but are a sure way to keep them cool during an outside wedding ceremony and/or reception. The fans can either be set in a basket at the back of the ceremony location or you can put 1 fan on each chair which will add great color to your wedding photos.

Decorating with Ribbon for your Wedding

It occurred to me over the  over the Holiday Season while i was wrapping alot of gifts that decorating with ribbon for a wedding can be a key element to accent your wedding theme and decor.  The selection of ribbons that you’ll find when you walk into your local craft or fabric store can be very overwhelming.  Not only will you find a variety of styles, but the color choices and widths will seem endless.  This list will give you just a few of  availabe ribbons so that you’ll feel more educated when you go shopping.

Personalized Wedding Bows

Personalized Wedding Bows

Tulle:    A fine, often starched net of silk, rayon, or nylon, used veils, wedding pews bows and in wider width can to used as table overlay.

Organza:   A very lightweight and sheer fabric ribbon that I always suggest to purchasing with a wire edge as it will hold it’s shape when decorating with it.

Grosgrain:  This ribbed woven, ribbon was originally used by milliners to decorate and embellish hats.  Depending on the stiffness of the ribbon it can be difficult to tie so consider the project before adding this ribbon to your shopping bag.

Iridescent:  The finish of this type of ribbon has the look of a rainbow of pastel colors and the hues of the colors will vary depending on the  lighting.   This type of ribbon is very popular for fairytale weddings.

Lamé:  A fabric ribbon woven with metallic thread for a shiny look.  Most popular in silver and gold but you also find it in a variety of color both with wire edge and no wire edge.
Satin:  There are many types of satin ribbons.  Acetate satin is very popular in the floral market as it less expensive than single face satin.  It has a cut edge to keep the edges for fraying.  Singe face and double face satin are available in a variety of widths and are both very popular with Personalized Ribbon and premade Bows that are readily available on the market in a variety of colors.
